THOUGHTS ON THE IFL:  I believe the IFL will revolutionize the sport of fighting in the same way that the NFL and NBA have worked to popularize and improve their respective sports.

VIEWS ON THE TEAM CONCEPT IN OUR SPORT: I’ve wrestled since childhood.  Though competitions are one-on one, wrestling is very much a team sport.  The IFL organization mirrors this design—one-on-one fights, but team training and support and training is enhanced with the relationships developed with your team.

What does it mean to you having this opportunity to fight in the IFL and to be part of such a new concept that could change our industry?  Everything, I began fighting in my late teens, and fighting was a fringe sport then, something you did for personal, not professional reasons.  In the past decade, fighting has catapulted into the public eye.  After watching the industry change, I became determined to follow a very personal dream that allows for professional opportunities.  There is nothing more invigorating than that opportunity.

When and why did you start fighting MMA?  I began actual MMA training in my late teens, though I had a strong wrestling base from childhood.  In rural Ohio there is not much to do but wrestle or get into trouble, so I’ve wrestled since beginning grammar school.  The rural work ethic was instilled at an early age, and I have always trained as hard as the human body permits.   I moved to Tucson, AZ at 20, when my MMA training picked up.  I began with grappling for a couple of years and then extended my training to Muay Thai and boxing.

What ranks and titles have you held?  Two-time Rage in the Cage Champion, One-time Extreme Fighting Challenge Champion (8-man Tournament), 1999 Bas Rutten Invitational Champion (jiu jitsu) 1995 High School State Wrestling Champion

Do you have any hero’s and explain why?  Our men and women fighting overseas…I feel that it takes great courage and determination to endure being away from their homes and families for such a long time

What is your favorite technique?  Neck crank

What if anything, would separate, or make you stand-out, in this league?  Superb take-downs, I’m a mean fighter, and I like to slam people on their heads.  I’m also good looking.

What was your job before you started fighting and do you currently maintain that position?  I own a successful insurance brokerage and yes I still own the agency.  As a business owner, I have the flexibility to train when I need to.

What sports did you play in high school, if any?  Wrestling

If you attended college do you hold a degree and what degree did you earn?  Associates/Psychology major

List any hobbies, or interest you have outside of fighting:  sales, outdoor activities

Who is the most motivational person in your life?  My wife she keeps me in shape.

Every boy, dreams/ fantasies, about being something when they grow up, what did you want to be?  I’ve wanted to be a professional fighter.

What can you personally bring to your team that will help to ensure, they are the best in the league?  Work ethic, take down skills, passion, very original moves that work.
